Spain is not only a beautiful country but also boasts an impressive amount of free museums and galleries for kids, adults, and families. Below we detail a few of our favorites:

Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia, Barcelona
Carrer de Mallorca, 401, 08013, Spain, Open from 9AM-7PM

While technically not free if you step in to the museum, La Sagrada Familia is truly an impressive sight from the outside which is free! La Sagrada is an impressively intricate, large Roman Catholic Church designed by Antoni Gaudi and although it isn’t complete it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The style of the church is likened to Spanish Late Gothic, Catalan Modernism, and the Art Nouveau movement.

Museo del Prado, Madrid

This museum houses Spain’s premier art and some of the best work that the country has ever produced. Its art dates back from the 12th century to the early 19th century, based on the former Spanish Royal Collection. The collection currently comprises around 7,600 paintings, 1,000 sculptures, 4,800 prints, and 8,200 drawings. The best known work for the museum is Las Meninas by Velazquez.
